Our invites!

Picture
Our invites are finally finished and mailed!

I decided to do pocketfold invites since most of our guests are OOT and needed a lot of information to plan their trips.  I used my grandmother's sketch of the Williamsburg Bridge as the background of the invite panel and insert cards.

This is what the outside of our invites looked like, using my grandmother's sketch on the seal as well.

Our Monogram

I love that I was able to incorporate one of my grandmother's sketches into our monogram!

Save the Dates - The end result

Picture
Here's a picture I took of our Save the Dates right before I sent them out.  I mounted the save the date sketch on brown cardstock to give it more weight.  I mounted the magnets on brown cardstock by using clear photo corners.  Next to the magnet, I hand wrote personalized messages to each guest.  So far, all my guests seem to love them!

Save the Date Magnets

I designed our magnets myself, using InDesign and a template from MagnetStreetWeddings.com.  It features a picture of us from our engagement session.  Can't wait to send them out!

Save the Date Notecard- Final Draft

Picture

I'm so excited about our save the dates!  I enlisted the help of my grandmother, who is a professional artist, for them.  I asked her to draw a sketch of the Williamsburg bridge because one of the bridges that connects Brooklyn to Manhattan.  I grew up in Manhattan, and I rode over this bridge all the time to visit Jon when we were dating.  Now that we live together in Brooklyn, we get to ride over it together after our late nights out in the city.  Our reception venue also has an amazing view of this bridge.  I'm so happy that it gets to be a part of our wedding, and I'm so grateful to have such an amazingly talented grandmother who was willing to sketch it for me!

Previous Versions

This was our first draft of our save the date card

I showed the first version with text to my grandmother, and she thought it looked too crowded, so she sent me a simpler version.  I really like how the text fits on this sketch!  (although I totally love the last sketch too!)
